Terroir Viognier 2022
The grapes are carefully hand-harvested during the cool early morning hours and immediately transported to the cellar. After cooling, the finest free-run juice is collected, settled, and cleaned. Fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks with carefully selected yeast strains and is completed in the finest French oak barrels. Malolactic fermentation is prevented to maintain freshness and vibrancy. The wine is aged on fine lees for 10 months, allowing it to develop its rounded texture, complexity, and refined character, while preserving the signature floral and fruit-driven elegance of Viognier
This oak-fermented Viognier showcases an exquisite harmony between vibrant fruit, floral elegance, and subtle richness. Seductive aromas of ripe apricot, juicy peach, and delicate white flowers unfold on the nose, complemented by hints of honeysuckle. On the palate, layers of luscious stone fruits are beautifully cradled by a creamy texture derived from oak fermentation, adding depth and complexity. Balanced acidity provides a refreshing lift, while the lingering finish leaves impressions of finesse and sophistication.

The grapes are sourced from a single vineyard situated high on the estate’s south and southwest-facing slopes. This thoughtful positioning ensures gradual ripening and protection from intense summer heat, promoting full physiological maturity. The decomposed granite and clay soils offer excellent water retention, encouraging the growth of optimally ripe grapes. Cooling breezes from nearby False Bay create a unique microclimate that preserves natural acidity and enhances fruit quality.
