Cape Rosé

The base for this wine is made on a method the French call Saignée. Red grapes are destemmed and crushed allowing colour and flavour to be extracted swiftly. After a few hours of cold maceration, the juice for this Rosé is taken off the skins and fermented with a specially selected yeast strain.

This method ensures bolder flavours and a vibrant red colour. After fermentation, a dash of Sauvignon blanc was blended in to further enhance the flavour profile.

Fresh, fruity and easy drinking. This wine showcases the vibrant red fruit profile of Malbec and Merlot in a style suitable for every day enjoyment. A delicate wine with luscious watermelon and grapefruit flavours.

Description

The Merlot block we selected is an Italian clone with a juicier flavour profile, ideal for this wine. Both the Merlot and the Malbec blocks face South West. This is a cooler slope and thus has a gentler ripening period, which is perfect for this wine
style.
