2007 Avalon John Platter 2011 - 4 Stars
Inspired by Italian “Amarone” wine from Valpolicella, this is the first “Amarone-style” wine made from vine dried grapes in South Africa and probably anywhere outside of Italy. The indigenous Pinotage variety and Shiraz was used for Asara’s Avalon. Pleasant aromas of ripe plums, redcurrant and violets lead to a spicy taste sensation filled with rich flavours of cedar, sour cherry and oak mellowed mocha.

2007 Bell Tower Estate Wine John Platter Award 2011 - 4 Stars
This superb Bordeaux blend comprises of all five noble varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Malbec. Intense aromas of black cherry and cassis combined with sweet spice and hints of fresh and dried herbs follow through in a powerful yet balanced taste. Maturation in small French oak barrels for 18 months results in a wine which will reach full potential with age.

Cherry and blackberry fruit aromas complement the spicy wood flavours extracted from gentle maturation in French and American oak.
