Asara Wine Estate and Hotel, the five-star wine and hospitality destination nestled in the heart of the Cape’s famous Winelands region, has released the 2004 vintage of its flagship wine, the Bell Tower Estate, in an elegant Magnum.
The exquisitely designed Magnum bottle comes beautifully presented in a wooden gift box, making it the perfect present for a colleague, friend or loved one this festive season.
The Bell Tower Estate 2004 is an expertly-crafted Bordeaux blend that combines more than just the expected Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. Aiming to create a wine that is “more Bordeaux than Bordeaux itself”, Asara selected the best wines made from all five noble varieties grown on the Estate: Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Malbec. Every barrel was tasted and evaluated individually and only the ones with the best taste, flavour and structure were selected for final blending.
The wine was then matured in small oak barrels for 24 months to produce a balanced wine that can be enjoyed now or cellared until the end of 2013. The careful maturation is reflected in ripe fruit flavours and mature tannins that are surrounded by fresh acidity.
As a true “Big Five” blend, the intense aromas of black cherry and cassis are complemented by hints of mocha to provide a powerful yet balanced taste.
The harmony between fruit and oak has resulted in a well-developed wine that is the perfect accompaniment to roast beef or venison meats at any holiday celebration.
